Professional Overview
Sally Harpole is a well-known international arbitrator with broad China experience. She has conducted over 60 arbitration cases in Asia, Europe and North America. Since 1977 Sally also has advised clients on the legal aspects of doing business in China including direct investment, dispute resolution, energy, infrastructure, intellectual property, regulatory issues, and trade matters. In 2001 she established the Hong Kong law firm Sally Harpole & Co after 23 years at a multinational law firm, including more than a decade managing that firm’s Beijing office. Sally is fluent in English, Mandarin and Spanish.

Over the past 18 years, Sally Harpole has served as arbitrator in over 60 international arbitration cases in Asia, Europe and North America, both institutional and ad hoc, including cases conducted according to the UNCITRAL Rules, the local arbitration law and rules of various jurisdictions and the arbitration rules of the following institutions:
- China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission;
- Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre;
- International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC")
- International Center for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR” - AAA);
